TESTIMONIALS

“I've had the pleasure of working with Mike since 2007 when my company first brought him in as a contractor to assist with a SAN installation. The scope of the project and nature of the work would have been about a month-long engagement in total, but we were all so impressed with Mike's vast technical knowledge, capabilities, and approach to problem solving that we couldn't help but keep him on to assist with other facets of our IT needs. Now, eight years later, Mike is still an integral part of our organization through his consulting and assistance.

Mike is one of the best, most well-rounded individuals with whom I have worked. There is not much, in my experience, on which he can't offer an informed and well-intentioned option, and as new solutions, technologies, or concepts emerge, Mike always seems to be at the forefront and able to find innovative, creative, and effective ways of solving problems or propelling projects forward.

In all honesty, there aren't enough good things I can say about Mike from both a technical proficiency perspective as well as personally. If you're looking for someone to help you out from the highest level of strategic overview all the way down to being in the trenches, you'd be very hard pressed to find a better resource or a better guy.”

“When I first met Mike, I was on my way to becoming a Jr. Sys. Admin, and I was forcefully pushed into working on a desktop management project with him. I say that because before I actually worked with him, I just assumed he was a typical consultant and saw little value in working with him. However, it wasn’t long before I realized I wasn’t working with a usual IT consultant, rather I was working with an incredibly sharp person and a person that despite my initial feeling, was there to truly help me and the business I worked for. I want you to focus on the last part of that sentence “help me and the business I worked for”, I’m going to drill into that more, because those two things are honestly what sets Mike apart from everyone else. There are lots of consultants out there that can setup some technology, and sometime if you’re in luck, you’ll even find that the technology was implemented correctly. Mike of course fits the latter part of that statement, but like I said, that’s not ultimately what makes Mike the best consultant out there.

Mike is an incredible mentor if you’ll let him be. He’s not only smart, but he’s good at explaining something in a way that makes it easy to understand. On top of that, he’s patient. Even when you do something he strongly recommended not to do, he’s there to bail you out. I can tell you that I thought I knew better a few times, and I’m glad Mike was there when I was wrong and not someone else. Mistakes were learning experiences with Mike, not a chance to belittle or discourage you. I can say with absolute certainty, that that is not a common trait in the IT sector.

Mike is a businessperson first, and a technology fanatic second. Given that I am a tech fan too, we certainly had our disagreements on what the business needed vs. what was cool. Mike isn’t the type of person that’s going to recommend a technology that the business doesn’t need. He evaluates the business propose, the true cost of the ownership and makes a recommendation that’s ultimately good for the company. That means he’s not going to recommend storage that’s faster than you need, and he’s also not going to recommend a solution that will save you upfront CapEx only to burden your business with never ending operational overhead (think building your own solution).

I’ll close this diatribe by saying that once you get to know him you soon realize, he’s just really good at what he does, he there to help you, and honestly I doubt you’ll find a better consultant in the area. In fact I know you won’t.”

"Working with Mike was one of the best learning experiences of my career. His willingness to share knowledge is a trait that I try to maintain in my everyday work. Experiencing Mike's collaborative approach to problem solving and critical thinking will benefit me for the rest of my career. His architecture and administration of Pew's infrastructure was nothing less than exceptional. I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with Mike."
